Our Doctors

All of our doctors provide care specifically tailored to meet the needs or our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community and provide culturally appropriate care to our diverse community of patients. Dr Zia is multilingual.

Male Doctors

Dr Vindye Walpola is an experienced, dedicated and approachable GP with the passion for supporting health and wellbeing of his patients. Dr Vindye has over 15 years of experience as a GP covering all aspects of general practice. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and holds a postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics.

After obtaining his MBBS degree in 2005 from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, he moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast with his family to complete the specialist qualifications in general practice. Dr Walpola also works part-time for the National Home Doctor Service and in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Dr. Gilmore qualified in medicine from the Queens University, Belfast, in 2001. After postgraduate training he entered General Practice in 2005 and worked as a full time GP principle and later as an accredited Postgraduate GP Trainer in a busy rural practice. He left Northern Ireland and moved to Queensland with his young family in 2019.

Doctor Gilmore holds membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (UK). He has postgraduate qualifications in dermatology, old age medicine, and gynaecology. Doctor Gilmores’ interests include the management of acute and chronic skin conditions, minor surgery, diabetes care and paediatric medicine.

Outside of medicine Doctor Gilmore is a keen martial artist. He has continued to train regularly in the Japanese art of Aikido since moving to the Sunshine Coast. He also has a love of the great outdoors and having recently developed a passion for kayaking is enjoying all the natural beauty that Queensland has to offer.

Female Doctors

Dr Corinne Aveline grew up in France and graduated from the University of Nantes in 1989. Dr Aveline worked as a GP overseas for 17 years, in France & New Caledonia, before moving to Australia in 2007. She gained her fellowship with the RACGP in 2012.

Dr Corinne Aveline has worked at various locations in Australia & has 15+ years of experience as a GP in the Australian Healthcare system & continues to provide exceptional care to her patients.

She has a special interest in Women’s Health, Children’s Health, Mental Health and Chronic Disease Management.

Dr Corinne Aveline speaks fluent French and Spanish.

Dr Bronwyn Hytten graduated from Griffith University in 2013.

She has worked for three years in hospitals on the Sunshine Coast, and three years for the Royal Australian Air Force.

She enjoys all aspects of general practice.

General Practitioner, MBBS, FRACGP.

Speaks English, and Nepali.

Dr Sylvia completed her Medical degree from James Cook University in 2017.

She has completed her hospital training years through various departments and has also completed her advanced skills training in Paediatrics at Redland Hospital in Brisbane.

Having recently completed her General Practice training through the RACGP (The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) in practices at Bundaberg and Childers, she has moved to Sunshine coast as a GP specialist and looks forward to meeting her new patients.

Sylvia enjoys all aspects of General practice with a keen focus on preventative heath and holistic care.

Her special interests include neonatal, paediatric and women’s health, including Implanon insertion/removal.

She grew up in Brisbane but has fallen in love with our beautiful coast. When not at work, she enjoys beach walks and cycling along the coast with her husband.

Dr Sylvia Shrestha will be available on Monday and Wednesday and is welcoming new patients.
